Some information on The Country Dance and Song Society (CDSS) . LGECD is an affiliate member.
CDSS provides critical support in North America, to local dance groups. They have a wealth of resources for dancers and callers. All the muisc used for LGECD dances ,comes from CD's made by this organization. They also run 3 camps, in three locations, for children and adults, which are FANTASTIC. Ruth's Squares
Chocolate Chip Squares
1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup brown sugar
2 cups all purpose flour (1/4 cup can be ground flax or oatmeal)
1 cup chocolate chips (butterscotch or peanut butter)
1/2 cup unsweetened coconut
1/2 cup walnuts or pecans (pieces or whole)
1 tsp. vanilla
Cream butter with brown sugar. Add flour. Mix well and add remaining
ingredients. Press mixture into 9 x 9 unbuttered pan. Bake at 350 F for 25 minutes until golden. Cut into squares or bars while warm. Enjoy!
