Like Learning Bridge or Ballroom Dance, each session in the series builds on the previous session, so dancers become familiar
with the ECD figures and patterns.

*****Some information on The Country Dance and Song Society (CDSS) . LGECD is an affiliate member.
CDSS provides critical support in North America, to local dance groups. They have a wealth of resources for dancers and callers. All the muisc used for LGECD dances ,comes from CD's made by this organization. They also run 3 camps, in three locations, for children and adults, which are FANTASTIC. Their web site for more information is www.cdss.org
"CDSS is an educational and arts service non-profit which promotes and supports participatory dance, music and song, rooted in both English and North American culture, including historical and modern contra, square and English country dance, .... traditional songs, and the vibrant music which supports them."

We are saddened to announce that Alison (Ali) Leonard passed away on May 16th, 2023. She was a great supporter of Lord Grey's ECD and she will be greatly missed. Chocolate Chip Squares
1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup brown sugar
2 cups all purpose flour (1/4 cup can be ground flax or oatmeal)
1 cup chocolate chips (butterscotch or peanut butter)
1/2 cup unsweetened coconut
1/2 cup walnuts or pecans (pieces or whole)
1 tsp. vanilla
Cream butter with brown sugar. Add flour. Mix well and add remaining
ingredients. Press mixture into 9 x 9 unbuttered pan. Bake at 350 F for 25 minutes until golden. Cut into squares or bars while warm. Enjoy!
